hybrid field blanket

The hybrid field blanket was designed around my key principles,  that being multi-use, innovative, and of sound, practical design.

This system is very lightweight and thermally efficient. This is accomplished with a system of hybrid insulation, combining a full synthetic polyester batting and a  integrated and breathable reflective layer. "Patent Pending" It effectively keeps out the wind and cold, conserving heat by reflecting the infrared radiation given off by the occupant. Other heat loss is trapped by the 60g or 120g per square meter synthetic fill. This combination will keep you warm.  

The hybrid blanket is flexible in other ways. It quickly converts from a blanket into a sleeping bag by zipping up the side and cinching the bottom. You could also use the blanket as a under quilt or over quilt "suspension not included" This blanket also has a built-in safety factor. The integrated reflective layer is unaffected by moisture and reflects body heat even when wet and the synthetic insulation will keep you warm in damp climates. 

The blanket  also incorporates other useful features. Each end of the bag has a draw string to cinch the bag around a hammock if being used as a under quilt, or it can even be used as a hammock pod system that would be able to fully zip. 

The blanket can be used reversed. The dark side is a 20 nylon that has a DWR coating and the light grey or brown side is a soft pongee that is not as slick as the 20d nylon. I did this for multiple reasons. The first is for tactile feel some people prefer a softer non nylon feeling surface. Either side is very durable and water resistant. 

I designed this blanket to work with my bivvy lines, it will fit perfectly in the Trifecta, Sing, velar or any of the larger models. Also this blanket is designed to work with my new V3 BOB Poncho when that is ready.
